Media Literacy Competency Framework Report for Oncology Patients is Released!

The report titled “Media Literacy Competency Framework for Oncology Patients” prepared within the scope of the Medlit project aims to increase the awareness and knowledge levels of oncology patients and their relatives regarding the media. This comprehensive report addresses the media literacy skills required for patients to evaluate media content more consciously, protect themselves against misinformation, and make more accurate decisions regarding their health.


The report examines in detail why media literacy is of vital importance for oncology patients, which media sources are reliable, and how patients can benefit from these sources. In addition, evaluating media content from a critical perspective, questioning the accuracy of health-related news, and ways to cope with information pollution encountered in the digital world are among the important topics covered in the report.
